This coming June is an exciting time for the NBA. Not only will there be this year's NBA finals, but a new draft class will be heading to the promise land. This class has some star potential players and in this article I will give you my list of this years draft entries who could make up to be the next Mamba. Please keep in mind that I don't think anyone will be at the level of Kobe, but I want to analyze who has that potential in this draft class.
1.) Jamal Murray
One of the best swing-men in this year's class is Jamal Murray. Murray is an athletic 6'4'' guard from the University of Kentucky and is already showing some raw skills. He can shoot the ball very efficiently and has shown the same Black Mamba mentality in some games this season. He is projected to go in the lottery this year and the Lakers might just pick him if he lands in their hands. Scouts say he still isn't a final product, yet this is the same they said about Kobe.
2.) Buddy Hield
This name from my list has already got fans raving of the comparisons between Kobe and Buddy. Both of them wear 24 and rep the number well. Hield is a 6'4'' senior from the University of Oklahoma and is probably the best shooter in his class. He received the Oscar Robertson award already and is looking like a promising young talent. Buddy is also athletic and a lock down defender, but only time will tell if he can live up to the comparisons.
3.) Anthony Barber
Now this one was a little cheap since Cat Barber is listed as a point guard, yet he is a scoring machine. Many people remember him in the miraculous run at the Elite 8 in last years NCAA tournament. The 6'2'' guard out of NC State has turned into a fan favorite and is projected to go in the late first round. While he is a point gaurd, Barber has the potential to carry a team on his back just like the Mamba and is very athletic.
Even though it is fun to hypothetically think of the next Micheal Jordan, or the next Kobe, this doesn't mean that these players will be as great as they are. My selections were purely based on what I saw from them and their stats.
