The Celtics Are on Their Way Back

The team with the most NBA Finals championships with 17, the Celtics, are down 2 games to none to the Atlanta Hawks and have been a disappointment thus far in the playoffs. Sure we can blame injuries and lack of playoff experience, but after such a successful season, it's a shame to go down this way. But their future is looking very bright.

In this year's draft, the Boston Celtics have traded for the Brooklyn Net's pick for this season and it is top-12 protected. The pick looks like it will end up being top 5 which is a really big deal. Right now, the 4 and 5 draft selections are looking like Jamal Murray, Jacob Poetl, and even Jaylen Brown. These are guys that can come in and impact the team immediately.

Jaylen Brown is considered one of the best prospects in this draft

My thoughts on the Celtics are that they have a very solid backcourt, but the front court is lacking and will need some strong bigs to make some noise in the future. Boston is also going to be a popular destination this year for free-agency thanks to a powerful coaching performance by Brad Stevens. He has completely changed the team and surged them into the playoffs and is noted as one of the league's best coaches.

They even have a good chance at the first pick this year, in which has tremendous trade value and can even land Simmons or Ingram from the draft. Isaiah Thomas was an All-Star this year, and much deserved too, and Avery Bradley is turning into a tremendous shooter. They also have key pieces like Jae Crowder, Kelly Olynek, and Jared Sullinger.

Thomas, at 5'8'' is one of the shortest All-Stars in the history of the NBA

With this said, I like to do articles like this because it is fun to see what the future will bring and which team is gonna be the next greatest. However please keep in mind that this is not set in stone and the Celtics might even go back to a run-of-the mill team.
